Theory meets practice: KUKA - Robot-X meetup

During the past 10 years KUKA Hungária and Robot-X Hungary have worked together on various industrial automation projects in numerous sectors of the industry. Theoretical and practical expertise are both essential for our joint work. In order to bring the two closer to each other, in February 2019 we organized a professional meetup at our central production site in Sződ for KUKA developers and Robot-X designers, simulation and programming professionals.

KUKA is one of the biggest robotarm manufacturer in the world. The company's Hungarian subsidiary produces control cabinets and cable harness for KUKA industrial robot systems. Beside the production capacity, the Hungarian subsidiary holds another significance for the company's global presence: in 2015 KUKA Hungary opened a Research and Development department in Budapest to implement software development for the latest generations of KUKA robots and hardware design for their control cabinets.

The development process is defined by global KUKA principles and is a huge project, during which developers and users (integrators) can only seldom meet personally. This is why presenting a real automation project in a real production environment with KUKA robots at the meetup meant a special occasion for both parties.

On average, Robot-X integrates 30-40 KUKA robot arms annually, starting from the smaller robots to the largest models, classic ones to the latest robot types. Sharing our experience on the integration and programming is our common interest that helps both of us providing our partners with the best solutions.

For us at Robot-X it was a great honour that the developer team at KUKA is counting on our feedback. "It is absolutely useful to personally meet and talk to those professionals who develop the systems we use day by day" - summarized the event Attila Masa, Head of R&D and Training Center at Robot-X.
