Stäubli SCARA in our latest sorting cell
For a foreign customer of ours, we recently built and installed a high-speed and high-precision sorting cell with a Stäubli TS2 100 SCARA robot.

The cell was constructed with a four-axis Stäubli TS2 100 type SCARA robot with high operation speed/low cycle time and high accuracy in mind. The robot handles 3 types of products plus any potential NOK pieces, which are collected on a separate tray for each type based on an appropriate algorithm. Only one type is allowed on each tray, and only fully loaded trays can be removed and forwarded from the cell. The sorting cell is connected to an ASRS automatic crane as part of a complex system, which brings and then carries the mixed and sorted pallets.

An interesting fact about the cell: the robot receives all the data through a central control system and sorts the parts based on the information provided from there. 
 
Another curiosity of the cell is that it is already running rather far away, over a sea and traveled to its destination almost completely assembled, which is a pretty rare event. Our robot cells are usually delivered to their destinations in pieces, then they are reassembled and finally reconfigured at the client's site.
